Find the Secret to Your Creativity
Are you brave enough to dive deep?
I read in “Big Magic” by Elizabeth Gilbert that we must find our hidden treasure deep within ourselves. We need to live boldly, like the pearl divers, who dive in deep waters hoping to find some precious pearls.
This reminds me of the Ama. They are traditional Japanese female free divers in the Pacific Ocean. With each dive, they risk death by drowning, barotrauma, or unexpected encounters with marine life.
They do it anyway.
They persist.
Pearl hunters are courageous. Their bravery, strength, and skillset are undeniable. I believe creative people are like these pearl hunters; because living a creative life demands courage, resilience, and skills.
All new beginnings signify letting go. Letting go of fear, attachments, and old beliefs. They no longer serve us and block us from moving forward in life.
If the Ama held onto fear, they would have stopped diving 5000 years ago.
They would be extinct by now.
Letting go signifies loss as something comes to an end. This is a unique opportunity for each of us. For the Ama, that could mean accepting the possibility of death all alone in the cold, dark ocean.
But they don’t give up so easily.
Instead, they step proudly into their power. They trust their gut with their own lives. And, they continue diving again and again.
Leaving fear behind also means a new beginning is ahead of us: an impactful story like theirs. An adventure or even finding treasure hidden deep within ourselves.
The past and the future are blockages that keep us from expressing our lives fully.
If you want to remain present, you better stop holding on to the past and the future. You better let go of what holds you back from experiencing your best life. The Ama has a secret to honing their craft. And, their secret is the key to your creativity.

Fear is pain, and it’s impossible to be at ease in pain. Fear means the death of your powerful story. Fear stifles your unborn creative potential, keeping it submerged in the depths of your inner ocean.
Dare to bring it to the surface. And, don’t forget to have some fun because creativity thrives in ease and freedom.
I wish you the courage to discover the hidden gems of creativity within you.
Many thanks for reading, 🖤
