On a Date

On a Date

We met by a lake on a hot summer evening. I often go there alone. This time, though, it felt all different. Our time together painted this familiar place with a pink, dreamy glow amplifying everything I like about it.

We walked around the lake but then got lost in the woods... It didn’t matter anymore when he found his way to my heart.

We arrived to the pine trees. My favourite part of the woods. I remember the ground under my feet felt like candy floss clouds. I wanted time to stop. He drew me closer and we kissed. The air was fresh and crisp and the the scent of pine gently burnt into my memory as it infused our first kiss.

We spread a blanket on the grass then we spent the rest of the night gazing at the stars. I still remember those stories we told each other that night about profound connections.

We didn’t work out. But my love for watching the stars remains and the vastness of the universe fascinates me: I believe, it’s full of endless opportunities.

Some are destined to break up humbly offering space for new beginnings.
Some connections are ending too soon. Those are the ones that leave behind heavy, aching hearts.

And, some are profound, wholesome tales. They promise love that seems eternal.
Evergreen. A lifetime spent hand-in-hand.
